About the Moon Phase Poster
Everyone under the same sky saw the same moon that night. A moon phase print keeps it: the exact phase for your date, lit by the sun the way it was, and turned to the angle it had from your place at your time.
The lunar surface is not a drawing. It comes from NASA renders built from Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter imagery and elevation data, so the craters and seas are where they really are. We print it on heavyweight fine-art matte paper and ship it rolled, ready for a frame of your choice.

Before You Order
How accurate is the moon on my print?
The phase and the share of the moon that was lit are calculated for the moment you choose, and the moon is turned to the angle it had in the sky from your place. The surface comes from NASA renders of one 2026 lunar cycle, so the slight wobble of the moon over months (libration) is not specific to your date.
Does the time of day matter?
Yes, a little. The phase changes slowly, but the angle of the moon in your sky changes through the night. If you know the time, enter it; otherwise we use the time already set in the designer.
What if the moon was not up that night?
The print still shows the moon’s phase for that moment, as you would have seen it once it rose. Phases are the same from everywhere on Earth; only the angle changes with your place.
Can I add a frame later?
Yes. The poster ships rolled in our standard sizes, so it fits ready-made frames. If you would rather it arrive ready to hang, choose the Moon Phase Framed Print.
